What cable lengths are available?

The Loop cord comes in 10' and 20' lengths that can be used with any Loop body. We also offer custom Loops of 50' and 100'.

What type of battery does it take?

The Loop uses a 3V CR123A Lithium battery, commonly referred to as a camera battery.

If somebody cuts the Loop cable, do I have to buy a new Loop?

No, you will only need to purchase a new cable.

Can I replace the cable? The male/female ends? The end caps?

Yes, each part is replaceable. Also, a Loop cable can be replaced with another Loop cable of a different length.

Frequently Asked Questions

MORE

Can I replace or refurbish an old Loop?

Most problems with Loops do not require the entire sensor to be replaced, just the part that is damaged.

Can I hook more than one Loop together?

No, each Loop works independently and is typically programmed to a different zone.

Does the Loop constantly send a signal?

The Loop will constantly send "open" signals as long as the Loop is open, perhaps by being unscrewed, cut, pulled apart, or otherwise disconnected. Once the Loop is closed, it will send a "closed" signal, which clears the zone.

Will the Loop go off if the cord is cut?

The Loop will instantly transmit an "open" signal when the cord is cut, unscrewed, pulled apart, or otherwise disconnected.

If your tattletale is armed, this will trigger the alarm.

If your tattletale is not armed, the light on that Loop's zone will begin flashing constantly until the Loop is closed or reconnected.

Where is the Reset Button?

The Reset Button is located next to the battery inside the Loop body. See photograph.

Which end do I unscrew?

There should be a sticker on your Loop body pointing to one end. Unscrewing the Loop body is usually required only when replacing a battery. As for the Loop cable, you can unscrew either end.

Can I use a Loop to secure a gate?

You can use a Loop to protect the gate, but not to lock the gate.

Why does my Loop stay constantly tripped?

Check the cable connections and make sure the caps are tight and the jumper is in place. Make sure there is no rust on the springs in the cap, and check that the wires are not loose on the transmitter. Check the pins on the cap and on the male end of the cord to see if they are loose or broken.
