Frequently Asked Questions

Universal Transmitter

How does it work?

The Universal Transmitter has one cord with 4 wires. The black & white wires are tied together as a tamper device if the cord is cut. The brown wire hooks into a "normally open" connection, and the blue wire hooks into "common." This can be used with any device or sensor with a "normally open" operation that has screw-down terminals. The Universal Transmitter also used the High-Power Transmitter for extended power through objects and buildings.

Why does the light stay tripped on the zone that the Universal Transmitter is programmed to?

Make sure that the wires are connected to the correct "normally open" and common terminals. The black and white wires must be tied together. Make sure all the wires in the transmitter are secured in place. The black connector over the programming pins should cover all 3 pins. Verify that it was programmed as "Type 4 Misc" on the programmer. Also make sure the cord is connected and all caps are screwed tight.
